It all began in 1977 when two N.Y.C. born sisters Tish and Snooky, at the time singers in the original Blondie lineup, added some extra ambition to their rock 'n' roll lifestyle. They gathered up some of their clothing designs and with a $500 loan from their mom, opened America's very first punk-style boutique on N.Y.C.'s infamous St. Mark's Place. Mom coined the name MANIC PANIC, as her two daughters rocked by night and became business proprietors by day. MANIC PANIC fashions and cool items were favored by rock stars and celebs who regularly frequented the place.
Today the NYC shop is long gone and MANIC PANIC has become a leading cutting edge hair color and cosmetics company. MANIC PANIC has become a household name referring to the famous hair dye as more people "MANIC PANIC" their hair.
With fond memories of their original shop in mind, Tish and Snooky opened MANIC PANIC WEST boutique in Venice Beach, CA . The area reminded them so much of their beloved East Village the way it used to be when they had their MANIC PANIC store in the 80's. Here they are able to not only sell directly the entire MANIC PANIC line but also the coolest, hippest clothing and accessories!
Tish and Snooky have travelled the world to select their favorite ROCK-A-BILLY, PUNK, GLAM, and GOTH lines to sell in their shop.
